It’s time to dive into the vibrant world of graphic design without the need for confusing software, professional training, or prior knowledge. This interactive Zoom workshop is tailored for beginners looking to unlock their creative potential using Canva’s user-friendly design tools. Throughout the workshop, you will learn the ins-and-outs of Canva, from your first click to creating 3 personalized projects, while gaining skills to empower you to continue to learn, grow, and create amazing things using Canva.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have practical experience creating various design projects that you can use immediately, featuring your own photography or using the images and graphics Canva offers for free. Come get your creative juices flowing as you learn to translate your unique vision into stunning visuals that you’ll be excited to share this season (and every season and celebration that follows).

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
During this workshop you will learn how to use Canva, the fun, creative, and easy-to-use graphic design tool to create your own personalized creations! *
I will walk you through the basics of Canva, going step-by-step through navigating the platform, understanding the tools, creating, customizing and personalizing designs with images, text, and graphics and exporting your work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Navigate the Canva platform (the free version)
- Create and customize designs with text and images (using your own photography is encouraged but Canva has free images to use too)
- Utilize templates and design tools effectively
- Enhance your design skills and create professional-looking visuals
- Download and print your designs for gifting (for the holidays and beyond)
WHAT YOU'LL GET
By the end of this 3 hour workshop, you will not only have the skills to use Canva for all of your creative needs, you'll also have 3 festive projects under your belt, ready to customize, download, print, and share, just in time for the holiday season!
*Please note that although the cards shown have a holiday twist, the skills, the templates, and the cards and tags can be customized to fit any and every special occasion, not at all limited to the holiday season.
Greeting Cards
I'll walk you through creating an easy-to-customize template to use for holiday cards or any other occasion you're celebrating, showcasing your own photos or the free image and graphics options offered in Canva.
Photo Calendar
I'll share a fully photo-customizable 2026 desk calendar template so you can feature your own photos each month in 2026. Create, print, trim, and share. These make fantastic, personalized gifts!
Gift Tags
I'll demonstrate how to create and personalize a tag and mini-card template can be used for the holiday season as gift tags and can be modified and personalized to fit any special occasion.
Hi, I'm Tracey Clark
I’m thrilled you’re here and I hope to see you in this workshop! If you don’t already know me, I’m Tracey—photographer, author, instructor, and creativity facilitator.
Dabbling in arts and crafts since childhood, “everyday creativity” has become a way of life. With photography as my main muse, much of my career has been spent empowering others to use photography as a catalyst in their own daily lives. With that and other forms of self-expression, I strive to encourage others to integrate creativity, mindfulness, and gratitude into their lives through their own unique, sustainable art practice.
I’m known most for my Picture Series photo prompt projects, the Create Space Zoom Sessions, and my LinkedIn Learning courses. Further back was the Shutter Sisters community, my column for DP Magazine, and my books Elevate the Everyday and Expressive Photography.
All of my projects, workshops, books, and courses (online and in person) feature tips, insights, and prompts to help you live your most creative and fulfilling life!
