It’s time to dive into the exciting world of graphic design without the need for confusing software, professional training, or prior knowledge. This interactive Zoom workshop is tailored for beginners looking to unlock their creative potential using Canva’s user-friendly design tools. Throughout the live workshop, you will learn the ins-and-outs of Canva, from your first click to creating 3 personalized projects, while gaining skills to empower you to continue to learn, grow, and create amazing things using Canva.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have practical experience creating various design projects that you can use immediately, featuring your own photography or using the images and graphics Canva offers for free. Come get your creative juices flowing as you learn to translate your unique vision into stunning visuals that you’ll be excited to share with friends and family for both everyday and special occasions.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
During this live Zoom workshop you will learn how to use Canva, the fun, creative, and easy-to-use graphic design tool to create your own personalized creations! *
I will walk you through the basics of Canva, going step-by-step through navigating the platform, understanding the tools, creating, customizing and personalizing designs with images, text, and graphics and exporting your work. Because it's live, it'll be interactive so we will be working together!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Navigate the Canva platform (the free version)
- Create and customize designs with text and images (using your own photography is encouraged but Canva has free images to use too)
- Utilize templates and design tools effectively
- Enhance your design skills and create professional-looking visuals
- Download and print your designs for gifting

By the end of this 3 hour workshop, you will not only have the skills to use Canva for all of your creative needs, you'll also have 3 fun projects under your belt, ready to customize, download, print, and share for any and every occasion!
Greeting Cards
I'll walk you through creating an easy-to-customize template to use for making greeeting cards. Great for birthdays, thank yous, holidays, or any other occasion you're celebrating. Showcase your own photos or the free images and graphics options offered in Canva.
Note Cards
Smaller than Greeting Cards, these little gems are perfect for quick notes or even for giving in a set. What's not to love about personalizing your own set of note cards? The possibilites are endless and showcasing your own photography is half the fun for you and your recipient!
Gift Tags
I'll guide you in creating your own personlized gift tags so you're ready for gift giving no matter the occasion. Create, print, trim, and use a coordinating ribbon to tag your gift which, is a gift in itself! These are half the size of the notecards and come in flat cards or a folded version. No envelope required!

I’m thrilled you’re here and I hope to see you in this workshop! If you don’t already know me, I’m Tracey—photographer, author, instructor, and creativity facilitator.
Dabbling in arts and crafts since childhood, “everyday creativity” has become a way of life. With photography as my main muse, much of my career has been spent empowering others to use photography as a catalyst in their own daily lives. With that and other forms of self-expression, I strive to encourage others to integrate creativity, mindfulness, and gratitude into their lives through their own unique, sustainable art practice.
I’m known most for my Picture Series photo prompt projects, the Create Space Zoom Sessions, and my LinkedIn Learning courses. Further back was the Shutter Sisters community, my column for DP Magazine, and my books Elevate the Everyday and Expressive Photography.
